I'm sitting here, sipping my Earl Grey de la Creme (which fills my nostrils with the sweetest most comforting and warm aroma) wishing that I was french. I was watching one of my favourite movies ever, An Education (which you can read about on my Film page) when one of the songs caught my ear. It's called Sous le ciel de Paris and the song in the film is sung by Juliette Greco, although I'm not convinced hers is my favourite version. She has a pretty masculine voice if you ask me. I found a version by Edith Piaf that I like better, and here's the link. If you still want to hear Greco's version, here it is aswell.
On a completely unrelated note, I watched another brilliant movie last night called Billy Elliot. It's happy and sad at the same time and not cheesy or sappy at all! It's so rare to find such a movie. Anyway, they showed a clip from the movie Top Hat, starring Fred Astaire, and I never realized what a hearthrob ol' Freddy is. Here is ze video:
Anyway, farewell from this dreamer, I need to smoke a french cigarette or something.
